It could be recalled that, according to results released by INEC, Mr
Fayose had scored 203, 090 votes to beat the candidate of the All
Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Fayemi, who scored 120, 433.
The
electoral body also announced that the candidate of the Labour Party,
Bamidele Michael Opeyemi, scored 18,135 votes to come third.

While
reacting to the results announced by INEC early Sunday morning,
Governor Fayemi said: "If indeed this is the will of the Ekiti People, I
stand in deference to your will. If the result of the elections is an
expression of the voice of our people, we must all heed your voice."
* PDP's Ayo Fayose
Below is the full concession speech made by the incumbent Governor Fayemi:
"Yesterday,
Ekiti State decided. Following the gubernatorial elections held in the
land of honour, Ekiti State, Nigeria, the Independent National Electoral
Commission (INEC) has officially returned the candidate of the People’s
Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the election.
If indeed
this is the will of the Ekiti People, I stand in deference to your will.
If the result of the elections is an expression of the voice of our
people, we must all heedyour voice.
I have just spoken with my
brother, Mr. Peter Ayodele Fayose, congratulating him on his victory. In
a few hours from now, I would be meeting the Governor-elect to discuss
the future of our dear state and how we would work together to institute
a smooth transition programme.
It has been a hard fought
election. As expected, in the course of the campaigns, there were
unsavory episodes as the candidates toured the nooks and crannies of the
state to sell ourselves to the people. Elections tend to be highly
divisive affairs that often see brother rising against brother. Despite
our diverse party affiliations, and regardless of which way we voted on
Saturday, we must remember that we are all sons and daughters of Ekiti
State. Ekiti is ours to build together.
On our part, over the
course of the campaigns, we presented our scorecards before the people
of Ekiti State. We never at any point took your support for granted. We
campaigned, we canvassed and we traversed the nooks and crannies of this
State. Our performance and achievements in office will remain the
backdrop against which the next government and indeed future governments
will be assessed. We are proud that with the support of Ekiti people,
we have raised the bar of excellence in governance. In all, we gave our
best, for conscience and for posterity.
Indeed a new sociology of
the Ekiti people may have evolved. However, the task of understanding
how the outcome of this election has defined us as a people will be that
of scholars. For us as an administration and a cadre of political
leaders in Ekiti State, we have fought a good fight, we have kept faith.
To
members of our party, our campaign team and indeed all Ekiti people who
defied the siege on our state to cast their votes for our party, I
salute your exemplary courage and doggedness in the face of harassment.
Thank you for staying the course. The incidences of brazen harassment,
intimidation and allied infractions on fundamental humanrights, which
many of you suffered in the hands of agents of the state, would be
documented and communicated to the appropriate authorities, for the
records.
I thank you all for listening.
May God bless the land of honour, Ekiti State, Nigeria.
May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria."
Meanwhile,
shortly after Mr Fayode was declared winner of the Ekiti Governorship
elections, President Goodluck Jonathan had gone on his official Facebook
account to post congratulatory message on Fayose's victory.
Prior
to the election, political analysts had predicted the contest to be
between the candidates of three parties – the incumbent governor, Kayode
Fayemi of the APC, a former governor of the state, Ayo Fayose of the
PDP, and a member of the House of Representatives, Opeyemi Bamidele of
the Labour Party.

Spain suffer early World Cup exit
Spain's dominance of global football was brought to a crushing end as
they were knocked out of the World Cup by an impressive Chile.
The
defending champions
were aiming to become the first nation to retain the title since Brazil in 1962. But, after losing their opening match
5-1 to the Netherlands,
they surrendered their crown in a cauldron of noise in the Maracana.
First-half goals from Eduardo Vargas and Charles Aranguiz did the damage as Spain failed to contain the rampant Chileans, or muster a response of any real substance.
Their elimination means they are the fifth defending champions to fail to progress from the group stage at the World Cup.
It was Chile's first competitive victory over Spain - and just reward for an attacking masterclass.

How music star, Kefee died
Though she had been in a coma for close to three weeks, it was with
shock that Nigerians received news that gospel music star and Branama
Queen, Kefee Obareki, had passed on to the great beyond abruptly
terminating a career spanning over a decade.
According to reports, three weeks ago, the singer, who was rumoured to be six months pregnant, had collapsed aboard a 14-hour flight to Chicago. Consequently, the aircraft had to make an emergency landing in Los Angeles where Kefee received urgent medical attention. Though her family is yet to comment, reports on social media claim that the singer had been diagnosed with pre-eclampsia – pregnancy induced high blood pressure and was on life support.
While Nigerians waited with baited breaths, her husband, Teddy Don-Momoh of Star FM confirmed her deteriorating health status when he went on twitter to appeal to Nigerians to pray for his beloved wife as doctors had revealed that her condition was critical.
Overnight, social media was overflowing with prayers for the star. Unfortunately, the singer reportedly gave up the ghost yesterday, after a three week battle thus throwing the entertainment industry into a mourning mood weeks after another denizen, Amaka Igwe, collapsed and died on set in Enugu.
Even in death, Kefee’s light continues to shine as she was a frontline gospel music star. With four albums to her credit and a number of hits, she would go down as one of Nigeria’s most successful contemporary gospel musicians.
However, even in death, her broken marriage continues to haunt her. Reports have emerged that a certain pastor in Abuja had placed a curse on her due to an interview she granted a junk magazine earlier in the year where the late singer had alleged that the said pastor dropped her from a show his church was organizing because of her marriage break up to her ex-husband, Alec Godwin, in 2008. In the said interview, Kefee had made an allusion to the sex scandal which rocked the pastor’s church to its very foundations. Sources said the pastor got angry and placed a curse on her.

DRINK WATER ON EMPTY STOMACH
DRINK WATER ON EMPTY STOMACH
It is popular in Japan today to drink water immediately after waking up every morning. Furthermore, scientific tests have proven its value. We publish below a description of use of water for our readers. For old and serious diseases as well as modern illnesses the water treatment had been found successful by a Japanese medical society as a 100% cure for the following diseases:
Headache, body ache, heart system, arthritis, fast heart beat, epilepsy, excess fatness, bronchitis asthma, TB, meningitis, kidney and urine diseases, vomiting, gastritis, diarrhea, piles, diabetes, constipation, all eye diseases, womb, cancer and menstrual disorders, ear nose and throat diseases.
METHOD OF TREATMENT
2. Brush and clean the mouth but do not eat or drink anything for 45 minute
3.. After 45 minutes you may eat and drink as normal.
4. After 15 minutes of breakfast, lunch and dinner do not eat or drink anything for 2 hours
5. Those who are old or sick and are unable to drink 4 glasses of water at the beginning may commence by taking little water and gradually increase it to 4 glasses per day.
6. The above method of treatment will cure diseases of the sick and others can enjoy a healthy life.
The following list gives the number of days of treatment required to cure/control/reduce main diseases:
1. High Blood Pressure (30 days)
2. Gastric (10 days)
3. Diabetes (30 days)
4. Constipation (10 days)
5. Cancer (180 days)
6. TB (90 days)
7. Arthritis patients should follow the above treatment only for 3 days in the 1st week, and from 2nd week onwards – daily..
This treatment method has no side effects, however at the commencement of treatment you may have to urinate a few times.
It is better if we continue this and make this procedure as a routine work in our life. Drink Water and Stay healthy and Active.
This makes sense .. The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals not cold water. Maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating!!! Nothing to lose, everything to gain...
For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you.
It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion.
Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine.
Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.
A serious note about heart attacks:
• Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting,
• Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.
• You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack.
• Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms.
• 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up.
• Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive...

Super Eagles Head Coach, Release World Cup List June 2 - FINAL 23: Keshi confused
Super Eagles Head Coach, Stephen Keshi
release his final 23-man list for the forthcoming World Cup in Brazil on June 2, even as the players have expressed their sympathy with the coach in the selection process aftermath of the 2-2 draw in an international friendly against Scotland on Wednesday.
The team Media Officer, Ben Alaiya confirmed this in a statement on Thursday. Deadline date set by FIFA for the release of the final 23-man list by all participating countries is June 2, 2014.
Alaiya said that the coach would name his squad of 23 players on June 2, on time to beat FIFA deadline for the release of the final list of players who will take part in Mundial 2014.
He equally revealed that some players in camp have expressed their sympathy with the coach over the selection headache he was likely going to go through before naming the squad.
After the Super Eagles played 2-2 draw against Scotland on Wednesday, some of the players believed that the coach would not find it easy dropping any of the 30 players in camp going by their quality.
Team Skipper, Joseph Yobo, said at the post match conference that if he was the coach he would find it difficult to drop any of the players that is presently in the 30-man squad.
"Nigeria is blessed with talents and that is why I think all the players here merit to be in Brazil, even when we have some other very good ones still hanging out. If you watch the game against Scotland, you will know that the 'Big Boss' needs to be pitied over dropping players and picking those who will make the final 23. It will be tough.
Stoke City's Osaze Odemwingie, on his part said he was happy at the response of his teammates to his return to the national side. "But how do we drop players now from this squad. Everybody here is good but we should leave that to the coach but I know it would be a tough task.
England based Shola Ameobi, declared that playing for the Nigerian side has made him a better team player because of the quality of players in camp and wished he had started playing earlier for the team. "We are all good but we should just pray for the coach to ensure that he picks the best for the World Cup".
Towering defence ace, Azubuike Egwuehwe put it more succinctly: "When I was going into the match against Scotland I said to myself O'boy you are on trial, now I know that its our coach who has a really difficult job of picking the 23 players for Brazil 2014 to do.
