Rihanna celebrates Germany World Cup win with a string of selfies with Mario Götze and co

Bajan pop star turned football pundit poses with trophy alongside final matchwinner and fellow members of the triumphant team
Of all the pundits to have made a mark at the World Cup, which came to a climax in Brazil in Sunday night, none has hit the back of the net with as much regularity as Rihanna. The pop superstar from Barbados has been tweeting regularly about the tournament, and after Germany’s victory over Argentina continued the trend with a string of selfies that she posted on Twitter after meeting up with the winning team.
Alongside a snap with matchwinner Mario Götze, she also posed with the Jules Rimet trophy alongside Bayern Munich’s Bastian Schweinsteiger and Arsenal player Lukas Podolski.

The singer of hits such as Umbrella had earlier in the day met Brazilian legend Pele, clearly realising an ambition, before heading to the final at the Maracanã stadium. There, it appears, she supported Germany rather than Leo Messi and co.

Earlier in the tournament, the 26-year-old had gone toe-to-toe with peers such as Alan Hansen on the BBC in commentating on England’s defeat against Uruguay.
