I’m from
Ibadan, Oyo State. That’s where I grew up.
You’ve been on the quiet side for
some time, why?
I decided to
take a break to spend time with my family. I relocated to America from the UK
in 2008.
Tell us about your new movie.
I’m working
on a new movie titled “Ajitannawo”, which means role model in Yoruba. The story
of the movie teaches on diligence and gratitude. Everybody wants success, while
nobody seeks failure. Parents would beg to feed and educate their wards. It now
depends on the kids to show gratitude. The movie is recommended to all.
Who are the big actors you
featured in the project?
It is a
parade of the best of Nollywood. There is AntarLaniyan, DamolaOlatunji,
ToyinAdewale, Baba Fokoko, BukkyLawal, and many others.
Which movie brought you to the
limelight in the industry?
I became a
known face after I featured in “EniOlorun”, a movie produced by FataiAlabi
a.k.a. Adekanbi. The movie was released in 1998.
Can you recall how many movies
you have been featured in so far?
Honestly,
they are too many. But I can remember some, like OkoAkata, Tobi Loba, Arewa, Suurulogba, Family On Fire, EniOlorun,
Faithful Lover, and many more.
How many movies have you
produced?
With Ajitannawo, I have produced seven
movies.
One of the challenges of
Nollywood is piracy. How do you think this menace can be eradicated?
The
challenges of Nollywood do not end with piracy. There are also the selfish
marketers who want all the gains to themselves alone.
Does acting really pay your
bills?
Honestly, I
do not depend on acting to live. I do other things that pay my bills.
You are married and blessed with
kids. Would you like to share something about your family?
That is a
private area. I don’t like discussing my family, my husband particularly.
Who are your friends in
Nollywood?
Everyone is
a friend but I’m closer to LepaS handy and BukkyLawal. I call these two friends,
others are sisters.
